Treaty Acknowledgement

Thrive Community Support Circle acknowledges that we work on the traditional lands of Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and the National Homeland of the Red River Metis. We are committed to educating ourselves and others about the history, cultures, and contributions of the original peoples of this territory. We respect the Treaties made on these lands and honor the legacies of those who have come before us. Through education, awareness, and meaningful actions, we aim to honor the original inhabitants of this land and work in partnership with Indigenous communities toward reconciliation and mutual respect. Our work is rooted in respect and education, guiding us as we strive to create an inclusive and supportive community for all.

Truth & Reconciliation — Every Child Matters

In 2021, the tragic discovery of 215 children buried at the Kamloops Residential School brought to light the deep sorrow, grief, and trauma caused by these schools. Children and their families continue to suffer from the lasting impacts of these injustices, and the pain of intergenerational trauma still affects Indigenous peoples across Canada.

While we cannot undo the past, we can work together to build a better future. At Thrive, we are committed to reconciliation and to honoring the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 calls to action. We support this work by offering cultural programming and a holistic approach to healing. We will continue to listen, celebrate Indigenous culture, and foster the healing of the wounds of a painful history.
