Marni Waggoner: A passionate community volunteer for over 35 years. She has served on, chaired and been president of several professional, advocacy, community recreation and school based associations in both Winnipeg and Vancouver. She is a retired health care professional specializing in addictions and eating disorders. In her free time, you can find her sitting on the dock with her husband, 2 grown sons and family dog.
Kathryn Gompf: A certified project manager and coach with a BSc Degree in Engineering from the University of Manitoba. She has over 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors. Kathryn volunteers her time with many organizations including Manitoba Theatre Centre Black and White Gala, Team Running Coach for Joints in Motion, Fort Whyte Sunset Dinner Committee, Chair of St. Paul’s Parent Guild, and volunteer at Agape Table. Kathryn is a 2x Boston Marathoner and Iron Man finisher. She enjoys spending time with her family including 2 children and husband, travelling, and time at the cottage.
When the opportunity of working with Thrive was presented, Kathryn was amazed at its ability to deliver services to all generations in the Spence neighbourhood. Thrive is a very special organization that impacts so many it was an easy decision to become involved.
Jamie Gooding: Holds a BBA from the University of Winnipeg and is a business development consultant working for Digitex in the tech industry. She is a volunteer team lead with Pride Winnipeg and is on the board of directors for an employee resource group within her own organization. She brings volunteer experience from various organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and Manitoba Harvest. In addition to her career and volunteer work, Jamie is also a part time dog walker and is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce. Outside of her busy schedule she enjoys spending time caring for her exuberant amount of plants and relaxing with her two cats and loving girlfriend Ashley.
Being raised in a family that cared for foster children, she saw first-hand the importance of keeping families together and providing support when needed. As a proud Winnipeger, Jamie wants to lend her business expertise in a meaningful way to an organization that strengthens our community.
Gurpreet Singh Raikot: A Registered Social Worker with 15+ years of experience assisting children, youths, young adults, families, and community organizations/non-profits in developing advocacy and research strategies. He is experienced in the fields of Child and Family Services, settlement sector, counseling, social work, mental health, human rights, international development, and community development
Gurpreet volunteers with Thrive because “giving back to society and making a difference in people’s lives is my long-term goal. Whenever I find any opportunity that correlates to my mission, I don’t hesitate to stick with it. “I feel privileged to have experience working with diverse populations, including children, youths, adults, people with special needs and mental health issues, Indigenous people, and immigrants.
