COMMUNITIES FOR FAMILIES+

Built on a Foundation of Caring

Thrive Childcare and Early Learning Centre is the licensed early childhood program of Thrive Community Support Circle. We believe that early learning experiences create a foundation that fosters children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Our inclusive environment welcomes all children and families while embracing their uniqueness and individuality.

Thrive Childcare and Early Learning Centre Curriculum Statement

Circle of Security icon

Circle of Security

A secure attachment between child and caregiver is critical to a child’s current and future well-being. ECE staff help children feel safe so that children can get on with the “business” of playing!

play icon

Play

We believe in the positive effects of outdoor play on children’s development. Children are provided enough time, physical space and offer engaging materials which to explore.

partnerships icon

Partnerships

We develop supportive relationships with caregivers, other agencies and community members. We provide education and support to parents, volunteers and those interested in working in the profession of early childhood education.

Inclusion icon

Inclusion

Our educators meet the needs of each child and will adapt our program to meet those individual needs. Thrive ECE work with parents and other professionals to share information about the child and develop strategies to support development.

Abecedarian approach icon

Abecedarian Approach

Thrive staff use conversational reading, enriched caregiving, language priority and learning games to improve children’s early development and increase positive outcomes for their children in our care.

Choices icon

Choices

We trust that children build competence when given choices whenever possible. Thrive staff follow the division of responsibility in feeding, allowing children to make choices from nutritious foods provided.

Inclusive Child Care

The Thrive Childcare and Early Learning Centre supports the full inclusion of children who require additional support because of physical, cognitive, social, or emotional needs. Our daily program is adapted to meet the needs of each participating child. We believe that each child deserves an environment that is safe to explore and in which to create. We work in partnership with parents and early intervention professionals who have valuable knowledge and expertise to share with our team of early childhood educators.

Our Early Childhood Educators would like our parents and caregivers to know that our centre follows the division of responsibility approach to eating. We trust that your child will know if they’re hungry, how much they want to eat and we trust that they know when they are full!

Child Care Subsidy

A Child Care Subsidy Program is available through Manitoba Education & Early Childhood. The government provides provincial support to eligible families to help with the cost of care by reducing child care fees for children from the ages of 12 weeks to 12 years.

Your eligibility depends on various factors including:

  • income
  • the number and age of your children
  • the number of days required for care
  • the reason for care

Volunteer

We need a variety of skills to run our child care programs. Consider if your skill set could fit any of these roles:

  • child care assistant
  • office assistant
  • program facilitator
  • repair & maintenance
