When Rich first came to Thrive Community Support Circle, he was referred by his counsellor at AFM. In just six weeks, he’s already seen a remarkable difference in his life.
“I’ve noticed so many ways Thrive supports families,” he says. “The childcare program, the food I can bring home, and the help I’ve received through Anger Management have all made life better for me and my family.”
Rich describes the atmosphere at Thrive as “like a big family.” From the moment you walk in, he says, everyone—from the front desk staff to the program facilitators—is welcoming, supportive, and working together.
He also recognizes the need for a new building. “The people and work being done here don’t match the space we’re in right now. It’s cramped and tricky to get around. More room would make a big difference.”
Through the Anger Management program, Rich has learned to communicate with assertiveness rather than aggression and to be mindful of both his words and actions. “My wife has already noticed the changes at home. For the first time in a long time, I feel hopeful and excited about the future.”
Rich’s story is a powerful example of how Thrive makes a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families in the community—helping them build skills, confidence, and hope.
In just six weeks, Thrive helped Rich find his voice, his confidence, and hope for the future.
