To start off, I am a mother of four beautiful children and wonderful children. I’ll say it’s been quite the journey, and I have been through so many ups and downs, no matter what those things were. I am still here breathing and able to talk about it. Thrive has been a huge part of my life for nearly 6 years now. I just tear up thinking of how long I’ve been part of an amazing community, insanely incredible staff members who got to literally see my family and I truly thrive. I am forever grateful and so thankful to have known such caring and helpful kind people who never judged me at any point of myself coming there for any of my needs, needing to be met. Every time I come, I leave with an unexpected thing I needed in that moment.
It has been a true blessing being a part of something so huge, I love the activities, the outings, all things that are planned for us as comers of Thrive. The Mother’s Day photoshoot was so incredibly memorable for me, and of course, my children.
We were able to experience phenomenal experiences through all Thrive has to offer. If Thrive never had all the supports and programs offered, I am not sure what that would look like for my family and I, as it is extremely hard as a single mother doing all she can and above to make sure my children get the best experience out of life, such as the clothing, food, activities, outings together in our community as fellow neighbours connect together to get to enjoy things that are at an extra costs for low income families, hard to come by if you are not knowing Thrive!
The staff need to all know how much we are truly grateful for their kindness throughout all things, working together to bring hope to those who may have lost their hope somewhere. Thrive has that ability to revive that hope that once was lost, and I should surely know this from my own experience. It feels so amazing to know that others care enough to make a difference no matter how small or big. They care! My family and I feel incredibly welcomed every time. I am so proud to be a part of Thrive!
