THANK YOU

Thank you to Canadian Bridge Federation for their generous donation to help Thrive continue to provide vital services to community members experiencing significant challenges due to the impact of Covid 19. Their donation provides food, hygiene items, counseling and crisis support when people need it the most especially seniors and those experiencing isolation.

July 13 – The Broadview Networks sales team took their team building activity to a whole new level… by designing and building an amazing mud kitchen and sandbox for Thrive Community Support Circle’s Child Care Centre. It’s a busy morning at the daycare! Today’s United Way Day of Caring visit included a unique custom made sand box and mud kitchen for the children to explore and create! Special thanks to the kind team at Broadview Networks! BROADVIEW rocks our socks!!!

The sun was shining after a night of rain and thunder. We had delicious food, and fun activities for the whole family. We had such an amazing Summer Kick Off Event. We had approximately 100 people attend. We look forward to this event next year!  At this time we would like to send our a huge THANK YOU to:

Freightliner Manitoba  /  Royal Bank  /  City of Winnipeg  /  NMLG- Northern Lights mentorship group  /  Book mates  /  Frontier College Reading Tent  /  Communities for Families & Kelly Speak  /  Winnipeg Police Service /  United Way – Days of Caring

Freightliner and their amazing staff provided all the delicious food. They cooked and served hot dogs, juice and bags of potato chips. United Way provided us with a Day of Caring where members from the Royal Bank of Canada team came out to volunteer at our event. They helped us with the games and activities with parents and their children. The City of Winnipeg graciously fully subsidized our request for renting 4 games. The RBC team had so much fun playing these games with the kids. Frontier College came out to host a Reading Tent. Bookmates also brought some fun literacy activities! Children were able to do some fun activities and take some books home. Communities 4 Families, Kelly Speak came out with a Mud Kitchen! How much fun it was seeing children young and old interact with other making concoctions of mud, water and grass! The Winnipeg Police sent 2 fantastic Cadets to interact with community members. The Cadets had so much fun playing basketball and on the play structure with the kids. Thank you for all your support, laughs, and helping hands that supported us in making this a successful event for the community.

Several staff members from HUB International helped to gift wrap Christmas presents for Thrive Community Support Circle  as part of are Days of Caring though United Way. We also had staff help to organize at the Thrive Thrift Shop. Wonderful work, everyone! #HUBGives Thank You! Also too the students of University of Winnipeg, for serving our Christmas Dinner!

We would thank the Assiniboine Park Conservancy for their donation of Community Access Tickets to the Assiniboine Zoo!! With the tickets we received, we were able to bring parents and children to the Assiniboine Zoo who might not have been able to go due to financial barriers. We made our trip on July 22nd, 2016. For some families it was their first Zoo experience which was very exciting. There was lots of laughs and smiles! Families were excited and very engaged in learning about all the different kinds of birds, animals and dinosaurs!

TRC had quite the experience at the Assiniboine Park.   Fun time was had by all!!
