Building for Generations
2023 marks our 50th year of serving the individuals, parents and families who make up our inner-city community. Over the last half-century we’ve been constantly evolving to keep pace with our wonderfully diverse and ever-changing community. Now it’s time to take another step forward.
After consulting with community leaders and knowledge-keepers, and much decision-making and planning, we’re ready to begin building a new, purpose-built home for Thrive.
OUR NEW BUILDING
Adding a 3,750 square-foot second floor to our 555 Spence Street Resource Centre and Thrift Store and renovating its main floor is critical to maintaining Thrive’s individualized, wrap-around approach to health and healing.
Gathering all our adult programs and services under one roof is a smarter, safer and more efficient way of supplying the services and supports our community members need in the safe, dignified and inclusive environment they deserve.
As well as continuing to house an expanded Thrift Store, our new building will host dedicated educational and cultural rooms, a large multipurpose room, staff and counselling offices, and spaces for coffee and conversation or quiet reflection.
An elevator will also be included, making Thrive’s programs and services – finally – truly accessible for all.
To achieve our vision and goals on behalf of the community we serve, we need your help and support. We‘ve launched a $4 million capital campaign to ensure we can help even more people on their journey for a better life.
We know we can’t do it alone.
Ultimately, the success of this campaign will depend upon your generous philanthropic investment.
