Volunteer With Us

Volunteers are essential to Thrive’s ability to carry out our mission of growing and creating positive change in our community.

We are immensely grateful to our dedicated volunteers who generously give their time and energy, helping us sustain a wide wide range of high quality services for those in need.

The Benefits of Being a Volunteer

Anyone who has volunteered knows the great job and satisfaction that comes from helping others. Studies have shown that volunteers gain health benefits, social connections and an emotional boost when they give time and effort to a worthy cause.

We want to see our community thrive and we know that fostering an environment of caring and sharing is foundational to all that we do. Those who come to us with a difficult past report that they find meaningful connections through their volunteer experiences at Thrive. We meet people where they are at and provide opportunities to engage in ways that help them develop and move forward on their life’s journey.

Where We Need Support

Thrive Offices
We need volunteers with interest in office assistance and clerical work.
Thrift Shop
We need volunteers with interest in retail and customer service.
Resource Centre
We need volunteers who are welcoming, supportive and caring.
Operational
We need volunteers with driving skills, or interest in repair and maintenance.
Childcare
We need volunteers who love to nurture and care for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers.

Volunteer Requirements

All volunteers are required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement, agreeing to keep all client information confidential. Volunteers will also be required to sign a Disclosure Statement, stating if they have any criminal convictions or current criminal charges. Positions that work with children, or work one-on-one with clients, will require a Child Abuse Registry Check, at the applicant’s expense. Having a criminal record or criminal charges does not necessarily mean that a person cannot volunteer – a decision will be made based on the recency of the charges and the relevancy to the position.

To apply for a volunteer position download one of our Thrive Volunteer Application Forms. Once we have received your application, we will contact you for an interview if there are openings that match your interests. Completed applications can be emailed to the department manager of your choosing.
